So Everton did more than hold ManU and won me £3.80. I also managed to get my £8 bet on Chelsea @ 1.53 with the score 0-0 so that brought in another £4.03 taking Saturday’s profit to £7.83

Things are looking a little better after week 6 but there’s plenty of room for improvement:

Housekeeping costs: -£12

Betting profit/loss: -£16.50

Bank: £971.50 (started at £1000)

I need a few winning weeks to get back in the black.

Well Man City let me down (again) so I must certainly think long and hard before I back them again this season – they, like Liverpool, are far to inconsistent to keep me away from proper work. My funds have taken a hammering and the deteriorating picture after week 5 is:

Housekeeping costs: -£10

Betting profit/loss: -£24.33

Bank: £965.67 (started at £1000)

This week I believe Everton have enough to at least hold ManU and I’m going for some in-play betting on Arsenal and Chelsea because their current odds are daylight robbery.

So here goes – I have layed ManU for £4 at Everton @ 1.89 (betfair). If ManU fail to win I receive £3.80 otherwise I lose £4.

I will bet £8 on Chelsea away to Wolves at any time up to 65 minutes into the match if the scores are level and their odds reach 1.53 (currently 1.43, betfair)

I will bet £8 on Arsenal at home to Sunderland if at any time during the first 70 minutes of the match the scores are level and their odds reach 1.53 (currently 1.25, betfair).

Should be an interesting day!

City to the rescue again?

Well, Man City earned me £4.03 during the week (£8 bet when odds reached 1.53 on betfair, score 0-0) and I’m going with them again this evening in the cup at home to Stoke. Man City are a bit hot and cold at the moment but at home their class tends to show through more consistently. I have staked £8 on City @ 8/15 (Corals).

My betting results so far have not led to an increase in my standard of living – I’m still struggling to earn a crust.

Rationing on the menu?

Well, Man City’s poor performance at Hull ended a miserable week for me. I lost £20 in all and Hull put the spanner in the works on both occasions.

Here’s the gloomy situation after week 4:

And here’s the beginning of the recovery, I sincerely hope:

I will bet £8 on Man City at home to Bolton tomorrow night at any time in the first half of the match if the scores are level and their odds reach 1/2 (currently 4/9 various bookies)

Glad I avoided the Merseyside derby. I’ve got even more confident about Man City’s chances at Hull so I’ve backed them with another £4 @ 8/11 (Bet365).

I don’t expect to be able to get this bet on but if I can I’ll back ManU with £8 at home to Portsmouth at any time up to 65 minutes into the match if the scores are level and their odds reach 1.53 (currently 1.17)

So Chelsea failing to win at Hull has brought me back down to earth. Undeterred, I have staked £8 @ 8/11 (William Hill but this price available elsewhere) on Man City to go one better than Chelsea this Saturday at Hull.

I am also considering laying Liverpool at home to Everton but the trouble with Liverpool this season is that they are very very unpredictable so I may just leave it to Man City to earn my daily bread.

Okay tonight I will bet £8 on Chelsea away to Hull at any time up to 65 minutes into the match if the scores are level and their (betfair) odds reach 1.53 (currently 1.27).

Here’s hoping Hull put up some stiff resistance (at first!) so that I can get on Chelsea.

Well that was a worthwhile weekend of punts:

Birmingham’s late equaliser against Spurs earned me £2.88

Later that evening I got odds of 1.6 (betfair) for Chelsea just after Burnley’s equaliser so that led to £4.56 profit when Terry headed the winner.

On Sunday I got 1.53 (betfair) for Man City after 35 minutes when the score was 0-0. Two goals soon after earned me another £4.03.

So total winnings of £11.47 bring my bank up to £1000.33. It’s not plain sailing because another week has passed and that means I’ve spent another £2 on bread and other necessities.

Situation after week 3:

Bank: £998.33 (started at £1000)

Blues to (at least) hold Spurs

I missed this one yesterday. I don’t see why Spurs are the strong favourites to win this one at St Andrews today so I’ve layed them £3.03 (backer’s stake) @ 2.32 (betfair). I lose £4 if Spurs win and I win £2.88 (after betfair’s 5% deduction) if they don’t.

So I have at least 1 definite bet to hold my interest this weekend.

Toffees are sweet

So the toffees have rescued me somewhat this week with their 2-0 win over Sunderland. That adds £5.81 to my bank so it’s showing a balance of £988.86 now. I’ve still got work to do to get back in the black and there’s not much value in this weekend’s market – in my opinion.

Here’s all I can see for Saturday:

I will bet £8 on Chelsea away to Burnley at any time up to 65 minutes into the match if the scores are level and their odds reach 1.53 (currently 1.31)

I will lay Wigan £2 (backer’s stake) if they go a goal up against Everton during the first half. I don’t see them having enough power to beat Everton but I think their current lay price of 3.7 is far too high.

and on Sunday:

I will bet £8 on Man City at home to Portsmouth at any time in the first half of the match if the scores are level and their odds reach 1.53 (currently 1.32).

Looking forward to winning some dough. If I cannot get any bets on then at least I have my midweek winnings to show for my efforts.
